Congrats on the interview! Interviews and the work are very team dependent. The interviews are not as tough as FANG, and the job won’t pay as much as them either. However, it’s still a good place to work. Lots of teams have excellent wlb. Good luck!

Don't bank on good WLB. Intel PSG has been forcing engineers to work weekends while the managers and their pets show up at noon and go straight to lunch.

Its team dependent. Like every other large company. I’m so sorry PSG is going through this. :/

Extremely team / group dependent. Rarely worked 40+ hours in my Intel career and I'm a hard charger. (Also not a swe) WLB is one of the few positive key traits of this company.

WLB at intel is best in class. Trust me, where do you get 8 week sabbatical every 4 years + 8 weeks off for every kid. No work on weekends ever

    • Samsung HTLAH
You don't get a 2 month sabbatical every 4 years, it is 7 years.

And you get WLB only if you ingratiate yourself with the political overlords. PSG grunts are literally doing 6 day weeks right now. Intel WLB is highly selective.

Still I remember, fizzbuzz being asked in my interview😂 Not trying to bash them outright, the thing is they don’t build any software so they won’t require top notch engineers, mediocre can pull it of

Once, what really happened was that a teammate got super confused while talking about queue in bfs and stack in dfs. That happened in a meeting of 20 people. No one corrected him cuz they didn't care/didn't knew it themselves. I cursed and felt sorry for short selling myself to that team.

      P.s it's a team is SWEs
      Feb 3
    • Intel KuIe05
Wow. If they dont even know that concept that means they arent even able to implement dfs and bfs. Ist that like programming 101 material?

      OS is good?
      Feb 3
    • Intel JTzI14
Anything OS related tends to have harder interviews. There's such a wide variety for SWE expectations by group but it's tied directly to what the team is working on from what I've seen.

    • Thanks. Yeah that's about where we tend to aim our recruitment nowadays. Depends on the group. The AIPG group has the most difficult interviews using codility but still not nearly as hard as FANG.
