they decide where they want to spend their money and value things on so many levels, including whether they agree with the companies (and their owners) values, including who they support politically and whether or not they, as the consumer choose where to use their power of money. that is such a very specific instance of choosing whatever you want to do with your money VS an instance of the government having all your money and making all the decisions for you (i.e. socialism). complete ends of the spectrum right there. #capitalisminaction
Wut
I make an argument that liberals do the most capitalistic thing ever. My evidence is by comparing it to the most socialistic thing ever. Liberals boycotting equinox compared to the government providing one option of everything to buy.
Liberals are capitalists, you dummy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economic_liberalism
Liberalism is a capitalist ideology - both in the economic sense and in the regular US use of the term. Why wouldn’t they do capitalist things? (even though I have no idea what you’re talking about, OP) Broadly, social liberals think that capitalism works best when society is harmonious. This means easing social divisions, making sure everything seems “fair” and so on. They are for regulations when it comes to glaring “unfairness” of a certain company or industry... but importantly, they are reluctant, if not hostile to more general structural changes. The DNC split over healthcare shows this: keep the insurance industry but make it more “fair” vs a more Social Democratic style NHS or true Medicare for all. Social conservatives, again broadly, believe not fairness, but order and adherence to rules, allows capitalism to function the best.
Has nothing to do with my argument that this is the most capitalistic thing ever, and liberals do it all the time.
Also to help those after me TLDR: liberals and conservatives have different ways they think capitalism works best. Cool bro.
I couldn't agree more with EllisDee25. OP, learn how to fucking write. It's like reading Yahoo Answers tard net speak from back in the day.
We all make choices as to where we spend our money. Some of us skip companies that discriminate and fund hate. Some of us skip companies that cancel a running shoe. What the fark is your point?
It’s the most capitalistic thing to do. And the majority of people doing these things, are liberals.
Are you suggesting that those of us on the left are somehow in conflict with the concept of capitalism???
OP. I think people are having trouble understanding your point of view because of the language barrier.
I made version for non high people: I make an argument that liberals do the most capitalistic thing ever. My evidence is by comparing it to the most socialistic thing ever. Liberals boycotting equinox compared to the government providing one option of everything to buy.
I tried... I really don’t get what you are trying to tell me.
Is that English?
Your mom goes to college.
Are you responding to him or me? “Is that English?” “No that’s your filthy mom.” Or “Your mom goes to college.” “No that’s your filthy mom.”
