im a UC Berkeley student graduating with a bachelor's in Data Science (GPA: 3.7) ive found it hard to identify data science roles that consider undergrads, does anyone have any tips? ive been looking at entry level roles at google, Microsoft amd others but ive heard that unless you know a recruiter its impossible to get an interview.
Startups and medium sized companies. Big companies all get hundreds of applicants in a day of a data science position being opened. Without at least a masters and experience or a referral, you're at the bottom of that pile even with a degree from Berkeley.
Look at financial services firms - most will have a 2 year quantitative rotational program for new grads
Which department is data science in at Berkeley? I had no idea they graduate people with bachelor of data science these days!
