**posting for a friend I am in a consultancy currently and have received an offer from expedia. The consultancy hasn't filed my i9 form. I just wanted to know will it affect my H1B process if it gets picked up in coming lottery at Expedia. TIA TC in expedia - 180k
Isn’t it mandatory to file i9 as soon as you start working for employer?? Do you have valid h1? What’s the current status
Currently on OPT - EAD extension. Previous employer had filed H1b but I got fired soon after & hence was nullified. Joined a consultancy to stick around in the states and here we are 5 months later. Finally with an offer. Please help !
Usually it’s on hr playbook for new hires. it may be the case they already did and didn’t inform you. You should ask your employer to file for i9 ASAP if not. I have never heard of case issue due to i9 not being filed. Also is your employer e-verified? It’s a must have for extension. If they are given that your opt is already extended just ask them to do it. It’s online process for hr to complete shouldn’t take more than 1-2 days Also talk to immigration on Expedia end regarding this.
