twitch bits Senior data Analyst
What is the current state / culture of the twitch Bits team? I saw they are hiring for a senior data analyst and the description literally fits my background line by line, I have the exact skills/experience they are looking for. Plus I love video games and I develop indie game as a hobby so i think ill be a great fit. Just curious to learn more about its culture and environment, really appreciate your input :D Also let me know if you would be willing to refer me, I have friends at Amazon but Im not sure if they can refer twitch positions..
Bits is under commerce and commerce is prob one of the better run orgs, though it’s very Amazonian so expect to work through many fires. They are pretty demanding. If you want to optimize for WLB, this prob isn’t the right role. That said, all the analysts I know are really friendly and smart. So you’d have good company.

Commerce is a meat grinder and there's a reason they churn through analysts. Expect to have minimal support (all analysts are embedded, no central culture), no technical mentorship. The infrastructure needs a lot of work. That being said, you'll learn a lot and be challenged. If you have the right personality, you'll love it here.
Thanks for the reply dinglebell:D That sounds similiar to my current position since i work on most projects and solve issues independently. It shouldnt be a problem but the structure is good to know. The only thing that makes me want to switch is that i m not learning enough so the challenges sounds great, but can you elaborate on the "right personality"? Is it sort of a cutthroat competitive environment? Any politics?
I don't think it's cutthroat, but politics abound at the higher levels. Amazon is trying to squeeze value out of us, so Commerce is valuable since it's close to the money.
Did anyone else read it as “Bitch tits senior data analyst”?
