I understand that titles are just words. However, titles sometimes come with compensation. currently, my title is “business intelligence analyst,” and my boss doesn't believe that title is encompassing of my responsibilities. I work in python, SQL, and tableau -- doing automation, ML, visualizations, and complex querying. Next week, I'll be splitting my time and working as a developer on our Robotic Process Automation team. Feels like I'm somewhere between a BI/data analyst, data scientist, and BI developer. Am I right in thinking that, and is there an aligning title? If not, what do you think it should be?
What do you do in ML? Sounds like a Data Engineer, which can be labeled as a Software Engineer in some companies as well. Seen Data Scientist too.
I've had ML projects using NLP and classification. Just started using it, so I still have a lot to learn about the skill
Would go with one of the three I mentioned. You're beyond a typical BI Engineer if you're building out software/tools, and using ML.
