whats the target level of g/f for msft L65/66
my friend is waiting for offer from both goog and facebook, he is L66 at msft, 10 yoe, whats the target level? can he asks for 6 or 7 at goog or fb! any pointer would be appreciated thx
I have both L6 and L7 friends that have moved over to MS as either L66 or L67. It all depends on interview performance and comp expectations. 10 yoe is generally more like L6, but as YUkR40 said, if they targeted him or her for L6 the interview panel might not be senior enough to score them for L7.

L6 at G is still quite senior. Most people never reach that level.
Thanks, but I saw most of people are staff engineer in LinkedIn, seems staff is just 3 level higher than entry level, whereas L66 is 7 level higher at msft
Microsoft has tons of mini levels that don’t mean a lot. A 60 isn’t that different than a 61, etc. Google has less levels but each is significant. And there’s no way the majority of engineers at Google are staff or even senior.
