Seems like a broad cut across teams and products Atlassian no longer prioritizes. They seem to be cutting for all roles, including Engineering, UX/Design, Product, etc. No announcement or comment from leadership, or outright denials (but internal Confluence "bye" posts, and internal Confluence + Slack analytics tell a different story). Did they not collect enough JIRA story points or other such BS metrics?
I guess no one there will be reading my job app for a while.
Wonder what severance is like this time and other benefits
Good rule of thumb is that every subsequent round of layoffs has worse and worse severance. I have never read a case of a company doing more layoffs and offering BETTER severance packages. They’re laying off to save money because the company is in a worse position. They’re in penny pinching mode, they thought first round of layoffs would work and didn’t so now they need to cut deeper.
I saw confluence pages on the team changes that were open to everyone. From what I’ve heard it’s been low quantities being let go.
What’s the slack analytics?
Would you consider SAP? Happy to help - DM and others as well, if needed. :-)
