BREAKING: Internal sources confirm another round of layoffs just hit emails at Tesla. For real.
Creating this tread for capturing some of the pro tips for cracking google L6 interviews. So far I got some understanding about the bar but most of them are way too vague. Now based on your experience please share some sample questions both for System Design and Coding round. *Is it true that for coding a L6 is expected to show OOPs expertise and questions are mostly hands-on heavy as opposed generic DSA round? Blind Tax: Amazon L6 SDE3 - 1.7cr 10yoe (Based out of India) #google #googleinterview #l6 #staff #prep
It is vague because theres no definite guideline. Our interviewers can smell your bullshit from miles away. All you have to do is answer their questions honestly and we will make the call
Amazon also has the similar bar for L6+ recruitment. However, the ask is to share different interview experience and some key takeaways based on individual's experience interviewing with Google.
Its just a normal interview. What kind of answer do you want? Like questions they asked me? Trust me, theres no separate L6 question bank here. You wont get any special answer from any of us you are looking for
I find it very difficult to crack L6 at Google. Tried twice and both times they downleveled me to L5. The feedback that I get is I don't drive the conversation. I try to discuss as many points that I can think of in that one hour by myself, but I seem to miss talking about few points which I talk about when asked by the interviewer (and that's a no hire for L6). So even though I'm knowledgeable, I don't pass the bar for L6. IMO to meet the bar for L6 you really need to know the question before hand which means a lot of practice and luck. Happy to be proven wrong.
This comment is top tier. Thank you👍🏻
Drive the conversation for algorithmic interview as well ?
Amazon L6 map to Google L5 on this planet. Amazon early L7 is mapped to G L6 Amazon L7.2 is mapped to Senior L6 G Amazon senior L7 is mapped to early L7 G. Yes, coding is expected.
Are you suggesting Amazon L6 should apply for L5 at google? If yes then I disagree: 1. Amazon SDE3 or L6 has way more scope than just only designing stuff. 2. In India generally Amazon pay more than google L5 l. I would put senior Amazon L6 to early or mid Google L6.
Coding is expected! But do you see any rounds similar to Uber's machine coding round? They tend to ask some basic problem solving question but emphasise more on maintainability aspect of it. When eventually boils down to OOPs and best practices.
