Hi All, I got the offer from Grab, Bangalore for SSE(G4) position for Merchant Platform team. Anyone know any info about the team? Please evaluate if this offer is good and I heard bad things about Culture/WLB. Please throw some insights on that too. Not sure of the current stock price since Grab is not publicly listed yet. I am assuming $5 as per previous posts from Nov 2019, but could be less due to Covid-19 now, which will come to 3.75L per year. Can someone update current share price? Offered TC : 29L BASE + 15% Bonus + 4000/4 stock units (3.75L/yr) + 2.4L JB -> Overall ~40L Updated Final TC: Grab (SSE/G4) - Merchant Platform Team TC : 31L Base + 4.65L Bonus (15%) + 1250 Stocks per year (Currently Valued at $6) (5.68L) + 2.4L (joining bonus) TOTAL TC: 43.74L Current TC (PS: I am not at Adobe currently) : 24 + 6.8 (~31L) Expecting Appraisal and stock refreshers about 5L. Overall ~36L by Feb 2021. New TC is just 10% higher than my current comp. Is it worth to make the jump? Also next appraisal cycle I am eligible at Grab is March, 2022, so what I am getting is going to stay the same till 1.25 years at least YOE: 3.7 #engineering #software #swe #grab #compensation
It's a good offer but definitely not top of the line. Sorry i donot know about the culture at grab but you can move to Singapore office in few years if you are interested.
Not worth it. You are going to a new place and take up a lot of new things for an extra 10% plus uncertainty of a new culture or manager. Microsoft can beat the offer in India for l62. Try for it Going to Singapore from Bangalore hmm.. Why don't you apply to Singapore itself?
Yes true. The Grab tech stack is new to me so have to put in lots of effort. I am not hoping to move to Singapore for 2 to 3 years so it's not a deal breaker.
Apply directly is what I am trying to tell you if you are interested in Singapore. Singapore got stripe shopee and couple of other places. The guys who interviewed me at shopee were from tencent and baidu
Looking at your experience it's a good offer but it's way to less to switch company. Unless and until you have some issue in current job, you should not switch for this % hike.
what is your current company?
A friend of mine joined the Payments team recently and hasn't got positive things to say about the tech stack and the team. (Although it might be specific to that team). Given the fact that you'd get decent hike in just a couple of months, I don't think it's worth it. If it's TC that you're after, try for Uber, Amazon, etc or go for Google in case you want a bullet point on your resume to stand out.
Payments team sucks because they are vendor facing teams.
grab on papar stock value is 6.14 USD since 2017.
Happy Diwali 🪔 The question is, do you want to work double the current hours and take much higher stress for a mere increase of 10% in pay. Also travel to Singapore once a year on your own income. Its not that costly. But dont throw away your life just so that you can go to Singapore for free thus saving around a lakh.
DM for Oracle OCI referral. They pay lot higher and lot of good work
Avoid. It is not worth the risk.
