Which business provides the best environment for developers from wlb, comp and career growth etc ? B2C: fb, amzn, uber, snap etc B2B: IBM, Redhat, Cisco, EMC, vmware etc Finance: Goldman, JPM, Hedge Funds P.S. I have worked in all of them and this is my ranking: B2B > B2C > Finance, however it depends on one’s personality. Here I was mostly focussing as how businesses treat devs, whether as an asset they are willing to invest for long term to become subject matter experts in their areas or as merely cost/burden/disposable/replacable resource. To people who believe B2B pays less. I believe in general yes but there are certainly highly paid devs in B2B (>Faang) with a better wlb. Lets hear your thoughts. #tech #wlb YOE: 10 TC: 300k
Definitely B2B but comp may be smol 😢
Generally yes, but there are highly paid devs in B2B too. They just dont brag here on Blind.
Yea blind folks are annoying with the tc
I'd look at it through another lens...when the business margins are low, it not good for WLB. You can have B2C and B2B having low margins and your experience will be similar. Finance is inherently low margins too; you're hyper optimizing business returns so you get low WLB as a result.
Thanks for the point. Its true that business model/margin play a major role in rewards.
