I never liked Verizon, AT&T, or Comcast. Always opted for the underdog. Usually T-Mobile and now Google Fi. Maybe I’m missing something, why do you like the big US Telecom providers? Personally I really like that Google Fi is cheaper, doesn’t require a contract, and works wherever I go in the world. Plus it’s Google, so their CX is pretty good. But again maybe I’m missing something 👏🏾
I pay $17 for T-Mobile. Hard to not like that
Agreed. I just wonder mainly why people keep using Verizon, Comcast and AT&T
I was with T-Mobile before working there and loved that our coverage extended to other countries for no extra cost -- including messaging. It's awesome when we travel to SE Asia or Canada (which we do somewhat frequently when not in a pandemic). I also get free Wi-Fi on Alaska airlines, which is our preferred carrier...
I’m all for these alternative services, but still don’t get why so many people opt for the big ones (Verizon, etc.) 🤣 I’m guessing because they got grandfathered in, or because of coverage, or maybe they get some “special” bundle deal with internet and cable???
I think a lot of people get familiar and become too lazy to switch. Many of these alternative services aren’t as well-known either, gotta increase those marketing campaigns lol
Is that why GOOGL is categorized as telecom? 🤔😂
I get discounts. If not I'd probably be on T-Mobile.
Google licenses spectrum from T-Mobile. So you’re essentially a T-Mo customer
In terms of mobile infrastructure there are really only 4 telecom companies (att, TMO, verizon and us cellular) and all the others are MVNOs which basically are private label cell networks buying data wholesale and branding it as Google Fi, Virgin, etc. In general, traffic from direct customers gets prioritized over MVNOs and sometimes uses more/better bands. You might not always notice it but that's one reason. Another is bundled offers and phone selection. Just depends on what you're looking for in a phone plan.
Because Verizon is the most prestigious /s

How is Google cheaper than T-Mobile?
Last time I checked pricing is similar, but I get more value from Google with being able to use it in any country. Also I think Google runs off of the T-Mobile network
