Looks like the hacker had prod access to their AWS accounts: https://twitter.com/BillDemirkapi/status/1570602097640607744 Uber has shut down their company Slack chat
This isn’t the first time. Uber once left their prod aws access keys in a github repo
Apparently their prod password was “lyftsuckslolol”
I really want this to be true
So they have over paid developers and over paid security teams and still hacked?
How do you define overpaid and underpaid?
Welcome to most big companies.
no wonder some random dude logged into my uber account in pelham yesterday
Prod access to their aws account? Yikes
I bet the next firing from Uber will be: security engineers, IT auditors, Managers who manage these people, and potentially up to CEO level if the breach is as bad as Equifax!
Lol CEO will never take the blame for this, he'll probably throw people under the bus and come out looking like a hero
At least they don’t got SSN of customers
They do process SSNs of drivers during background checks
Number of customers >>>>>> Number of drivers though
