Hearing some layoff rumors at Convoy. What % and functions?
I know someone in software engineering that was impacted, still waiting on confirmation of the %
Applied Scientists impacted
The company is hiding things by not telling how many people were laid off and using the term restructurings.
How is the sentiment inside Convoy ?
Lost around 10% today All orgs affected to the same degree
I heard about 90 were laid off in June, but this round may have been > 90. But don't know for sure at this point..
How is convoy doing in general?
Ever watched Titanic?
Convey has layoff culture. 👀 Not sure what their issue is. Uber seems to be having no issues growing their freight division with over 400% year over year growth in the last quarter.
lols that 400% ($1.8 billion) came from Transplace, a company they aquired for $2.25 billion.
Yeah but Ubers revenue from freight was 1.8 billion in single quarter whereas convoy does half that in a year. Doesn’t really matter if some of it is coming from an acquired company as that company is now Uber. Convoy seems to be doing the opposite of what they need to be if they want to be competitive with uber who is investing instead of laying off.
I know a friend that got impacted today
