Hi, I’ve an offer from lloyds bank (London UK) as a software engineer grade E. Base pay - £78k Pension - 15% Bonus - not fixed, but 15% on average Flexible benefits - 4% (goes on top of salary monthly) Private medical insurance, 30 days holiday + bank holidays. 35 hrs per week Current pay details (India based consulting company)- Base pay - £87k Pension - 5% Bonus - 10% fixed 20 days holiday + bank holidays. 40 hours per week Is it really worth accepting lloyds offer considering extra benefits but less monthly pay compared to what I’m getting today? Edit - I need visa sponsorship, so lloyds is sponsoring visa and 11 yoe here. #engineering #software #swe
No. Bonuses are never guaranteed anyway. What is E grade? How many YoE do you have? Clearbank are paying up to 110 for seniors, free trade are paying up to 140.
11 yoe, and I would need sponsorship, not sure if clearbank / free trade does sponsorship. Lloyds has grades starting from A to H.
As you need sponsorship, here's what I'd suggest. Make a list of companies you are interested in applying for within tech that pay well in London. Message the internal recruiters or HR team members directly on LinkedIn and ask if they sponsor visas. If they do, apply for it. While Lloyd's would be a step up from Tata in terms of moving out of consulting, it's still pretty bad pay for your level of experience.
Have you considered living expenses? Everything in London is expensive.

My current company has already sponsored visa. The reason for listing here to differentiate - as all companies are not offering sponsorship in uk.
OK, visa is the same for both with no difference. The difference of the total comp is also small. You really need to ask yourself why you want to move in the first place? Is it for more money or something else?
Don’t believe the bonus average from lloyds. If you want to relocate to the UK, Lloyds is a better option compare with the other one.
