I work as Senior Manager at Morgan Stanley, India (similar to Senior Software Engineer; yeah I know the titles are a bit inflated!) TC - 27 LPA + bonus (3.5 L in the last comp) + EPF YOE - ~ 8 years (all in Morgan) Offers at hand Cisco - Senior Software Engineer - 38L base + 4L bonus + stocks (20k USD | 3 years) BitGo - Staff Software Engineer - 44L base + 2.5L bonus + stocks (2400 units ($11- $16 per unit) over 3 years) What should I do? It's my first time switching jobs Location - Cisco is near home, but Bitgo is a bit far; but it gives a travel allowance of Rs. 400 and a food allowance of Rs. 600 per day. Cisco doesn't have the mandate of n days in office per week, but Bitgo has 3 days per week which they say is flexible. Cisco has released the offer and I accepted. Bitgo's offer was shared over a meeting and they said they'll not release the offer unless I confirm to accept. I'm a bit skeptical about joining BitGo because I think it's still a startup and not sure how secure will be the job there and WLB. #offer #job #cisco #bitgo #engineering #software #swe
Join BitGo for a better learning curve and ownership. Join Cisco for a stable job and good wlb.
Bitgo shares are paper money. In terms of real money, you are making 1 lakh more at Cisco. So, no big difference in pay. Cisco - good wlb, stability Bitgo - may have a fast career growth but may have to sacrifice on wlb. Risk of layoff. I would choose Cisco. If bitgo pays atleast 10 lakh more than Cisco, I will go for bitgo.
Make it a poll, my vote for cisco , worked there for a while and the wlb is mostly awesome. + bitgo is shitpaper money. As one ages it's mostly wlb>>>>money>>>> technoloshit.
Technoloshit? People like you get fired when they hit 40.
Startups might layoff anytime.m does bitgo have funds to sustain next few years .. if not I would go with cisco
Depends what you want from your work. BitGo - Better work and learnings. Useful for future if crypto booms + adds niche skills to your resume (blockchain). Other highly funded product companies value such experiences more than big corporate titles. Cisco - a reputed name, better WLB maybe (depends on the team you join), less chances of layoffs. I would choose BitGo.

Bitgo - better salary than Cisco. It's being a startup leaning and growth would be good. However you need to be always agile to find new job any time. Cisco - large organization, might be good wlb, stability would be there but leaning and future growth would be limited If I'm in your position, I would go with BitGo
