What is a good/cheap option for preparing taxes? I had been using TurboTax for the past several years, but have invested in QOFs in 2019 which it doesn't support, so can't use it anymore. Used TaxAct last year and while it supports QOFs/8997, it was a pain in the ass to type in forms manually. I think our taxes are simple enough to not warrant a full blown CPA. Thinking of HR-Block or Jackson Hewitt type of paid tax prep, which comes around $200. Is there any better option?
You can pay a professional $250-400 to do it depending on your location.
I'm in Bay Area. Any recommendations?
Sorry, not in that area. But I just asked a few friends in my city and got recommendations for this year since we have a more complex situation than normal.
LinkedIn has option to hire CPA where they'll provide you quotes and also thumbtack
Recommend H&R Block
Never use Jackson Hewitt! Its expensive and utter garbage!

Can everyone agree now that USA is a banana republic
hr block is the exact same thing as FreeTaxUSA or turbotax except you pay more
Did you even read my post? I can't use TurboTax because I need to file a form 8997 for QOF which TT doesn't support. So looking for some person to do my taxes as I don't want to enter manually in any other software.
I didn't read your post TC?
