Currently at Truist and there were major org changes. I’m exploring other opportunities and have an interview with Wells Fargo. Any thoughts on Truist versus Wells? TC: 140k Wells Fargo Base Range: 120-250k
Comp for equivalent roles is pretty much the same. I've been competing against them for talent. Likely you need to move within Truist. Wells is still a black spot on a resume we won't hire from them.
Thanks for weighing in. I was working my way to move within Truist, but efforts were thwarted by a reorg. Will likely have to wait and see how the dust settles, but also getting burnt out due to attrition. Convos with manager on career path and promo haven’t been progressing.
Nobody is going to hand a job to you. And yeah lots of movement with the reorg and the dust hasn't settled. I think in 2 weeks you'll see job postings again. Strategy would be find a job you want internally tell your manager then apply. If they want to keep you they'll pay up.
Don't join Wells Fargo unless you are ready for retirement and just looking for a nice pay checks.
Wells Fargo would be a terrible move. They're also constantly re-orging and are going through massive layoffs right now. Expect your offer to be on the low end of that inflated range. And expect to be stuck at that rate for a while, because high performers only get about 2% annual raises.
I would also be very curious to know how it is to work in Truist vs Wells. OP: what kind of work do you do?
I work on the design side. I had my initial Wells interview yesterday, and the only thing that sticks out as a con for me is Wells’ hybrid RTO requirements. Truist is definitely more flexible when it comes to WFH options.
Trust me… terrible place to work… low pay … outdated tech stack… no hike …. Constant restructuring… no recognition…. Only good if you want a slow moving company
