See title. With inflation, great resignation, and *waves vaguely at everything* I guess I can’t really afford to not swap companies. If I’m gonna leave might as well go to the highest paying place. Ideally places that are support remote. Fuck dealing with a commute. Tc: 254 9 YOE Seattle

Is this a Microsoft thing to use acronyms no else understands?

Depends, what’s your YOE?
Creepy asterisks
Well, how else would you suggest I quickly describe everything that’s going on? War, political and social unrest, total decimation of the middle class, increasing division and tribalism, housing prices, and everything else that’s going on? Basically everything is trending in a negative direction here friend.
Honestly Amazon
If you’re in the Seattle/SF area, anywhere will result in a big bump. Feels like everywhere is out-paying Microsoft. If you’re fully remote outside those areas or thinking eventually about wanting to be or moving somewhere cheaper, the best experienced offers in that case at the moment are coming from Coinbase and Stripe. They are adjusting much less aggressively for remote from lower COL than everybody else currently. Not sure how long it will last, but they seem to be snapping up a lot of very experienced talent who relocated or want to relocate.

“Vote with my feet”, a reference to an infamous line from our CEO telling an employee at a town hall to “vote with your feet” in response to some question about not liking their current team or something. Within the context, it referred to transferring to another team in the company, but now is usually used on Blind to refer to leaving Microsoft. It’s probably the most used phrase in the Microsoft Blind lounge but rarer to see it outside.
Got it. Thanks!
