Marqeta doing blatant discrimination in compensation. Incompetent HR and complicit senior management letting it happen

More attrition is coming pretty soon. Expect a lot in the near future and many more in the coming quarters. Lack of integrity on equity, huge disparity in pay between people who joined after 2018 and pre-IPO vs everyone hired after IPO (Jul 2021). Everyone who joined after IPO has 5-6x TC at the same level and in every level in prodtech (product and engineering) as compared to people who have been here for over two years. Promised equity and compensation adjustments conveniently ignored with zero integrity. Year end merit increases and even promotions in December 2021 have not come anywhere even close to addressing this massive gap. No where close. Yet the HR is silent and blatantly discriminating while staying mumb. Monkeys running the zoo. Recruiting has opened the chest and it is a big loot. HR people are worthless duds who believe in screwing exisiting people over and hiding the facts. Leadership is allowing that to happen and thinks they can replace everyone. I am not a doomsday caller but look around you, see what the HR is doing. It is not so hard to conclude that this place is fckd. Let’s go and work for a competitor. Stripe, Block, many other fintech are hiring like crazy and paying properly. Let’s give these idiots in management and HR at Marqeta what they deserve. Screw this shit hole. Stupid leadership, brazenly incompetent HR, their asinine approach to compensation and lack of employee appreciation. #marqeta #tech #tc #inequality #compensation #fintech #engineering #technology #productmanagement #product #hr #fail #leadershipprinciples #leadershipfail

Is this how other companies also operate? Why should anyone stay in such an environment? Pathetic form from the company.

You should write this on the actual company page.

Isn’t the stock down a lot after IPO? Wondering how TC went 5x.

They started giving 5x worth of RSU to new hires as compared to what people got two years ago. If someone got $100,000 in 2019 or 2020 for Rsu, the same role now gets $700,000 in stock as a new hire. Similar story for cash compensation but not so drastic multiples, still 1.5x-2x at least. This is not an exaggeration, wish it was, unfortunately. This is a feast for other companies and it shows in attrition numbers.

It has nothing to do with HR lol that’s a decision from ELT that “HR” as you claim have nothing to do with. Yes it’s completely wrong I agree 100% but it was done to everyone including the people in HR so please don’t blast them if you don’t even know how it works.
