Anyone here have any insight with what the SRE team is like? Also compensation, perks, and work life balance. Any info/insight would be greatly appreciated Current TC 150k
Invitae sucks. I just had the most unprofessional experience with them. Very arrogant hipster SJW vibe. Recruiter was an airhead that couldn’t make a meeting on time. “Engineer” I talked to didn’t even study CS and tried to act like they knew more than I and kept saying you have to learn biology on the jobs.
WLB is great, lots of autonomy, work from anywhere, just keep communication high, follow through with your commitments, and don't let your team down. Perks include annual swag budget with premium (Patagonia/YETI/Marmot/etc.) gear, all-day sandwich/salad bar, and a snack/drink variety that rivals a 7/11. Compensation is competitive and depends on experience, and what you negotiate for. I don't have numbers for reference. SRE team is high profile, organized, and comprehensive on their coverage. Most work is in prevention opposed to fighting fires, but SRE is naturally involved if issues occur.
Thanks for information I appreciate it.
Do you know what would be TC breakdown for 5-6 YoE SWE?
