I am currently a data analyst on an Alexa team and I am thinking of making a move to become a data engineer, this means I need a little skills upgrade. Is the Udacity data engineering nano degree worth the squeeze and the money? If not, what would you recommend? I already have an MSc. in Information Systems. TC: 95k
You can search and find the projects that degree includes and just do them on your own. They are on github. I think udacity is a waste of time for the money they ask. Especially if you already know your way around the subject a bit.
No
#1 rule for advancing or changing your role: ask about it. At the end of the day amazon would rather keep you while doing something different than let you leave.
@OP did you take the course though?

Does Amazon not have the L&D resources internally? FB for instance makes it fairly easy to learn the skills needed to go DA/DS <-> DE
I have not heard of such a thing
