I am in the process of interviewing for Freddie Mac Senior Systems Analysis role Can anyone help with understanding how the interview process goes? What is the difficulty level during the technical round?
How many rounds of interview generally happen after technical? Also, is the company a good option to join if you need work life balance for raising a kid?
It is probably one of the best companies for work/life balance with a kid. A LOT of people have had kids during their tenure. And your manager will determine how lenient they are about other things. Most managers have a don’t care as long as it’s done perspective, so no hassle about appointments or needing to unexpectedly leave work early. They give 3 months to new moms, dads, and new adoptions. It’s usually one round of screening by the manager and maybe a tech lead. Then it’s panel interview with people from your team. So two rounds total. If it’s more, then it’s probably just someone wanting to meet you who didn’t get a chance. Team votes together and gives manager their opinion. Growth is very slow, however, especially once you reach senior and above. Do not expect to be given promotions, unless someone leaves that higher role. Do expect 3% raises and 100% of your bonus every year.
It’s highly dependent on your team and who gets asked to interview you. The technical interviews are generally not very hard. It’s largely conversational with some common scenarios the teams faces.
How strict is the RTO? Can people leave early during days in the office or is it a mandate to leave only by EOD?
I’m wfh, so I’m not sure. From what I’ve seen people are saying it’s 50/50 on managers enforcing it.
