Officers treated Rayshard Brooks respectfully. They found that he had prior arrests, and was heavily intoxicated. They tried to arrest him, he kicked and beat them, stole their taser and ran, shot at the officer while running. Then officer fired on him, he fell on ground, officers tried cpr and tried to rescue him. But he sadly died. He was intoxicated and running with a deadly weapon. He could have hurt other ppl, taken others hostage etc. So the police shot him. Now, the DA is pursuing death sentence for the officer?? Wtf, this is what happens when u knee-down to the mob.
A taser is a deadly weapon? Huh? The dude was Intoxicated - where the hell was the de-escalation procedures? Everyone knows how drunk people act. Even if the cop shot, why was it fatal? Why such bad aim? Couldn’t have just fired at his foot or something?
APD manual: "[Officer] may use deadly force if he reasonably believes the suspect possesses any object, device, or instrument which, when used offensively against a person,is likely to result in serious bodily injury & poses an immediate threat of serious bodily injury to officer" https://www.atlantapd.org/Home/ShowDocument?id=3273 Literal quote 2 weeks ago on video from the DA prosecuting the cop: "A taser is considered a deadly weapon under Georgia law" https://mobile.twitter.com/stillgray/status/1273379778423189505
And all of what you just sent, is why the system needs reform.
Only BLM
> They found that he had prior arrests, and was heavily intoxicated. Public intoxication is a misdemeanor at most. The police shouldn’t even be arresting him in the first place. 🙄
Didn’t he pass out in his car in the drive through?
Wendy’s should have called a tow truck
The simple message out of this incident is, when cop gives you a legal direction, just follow it, even if you don’t agree with it. You have many places to challenge it, but the road side is not the place.
“What is privilege? ... Privilege is wearing $200 sneakers when you’ve never had a job. Privilege is wearing $300 Beats headphones while living on public assistance. Privilege is having a Smartphone with a Data plan which you receive no bill for. “Privilege is living in public subsidized housing where you don’t have a water bill, where rising property taxes and rents and energy costs have absolutely no effect on the amount of food you can put on your table. “Privilege is the ability to go march against, and protest against anything that triggers you, without worry about calling out of work and the consequences that accompany such behavior. “Privilege is having as many children as you want, regardless of your employment status, and be able to send them off to daycare or school you don’t pay for. “Privilege is sending your kids to school early for the before school programs and breakfast, and then keeping them there for the after school program ... all at no cost to you ... paid for by the people who DO HAVE TO DEAL WITH RISING TAXES AND COSTS! ... you know, us so called ‘PRIVILEGED’ the ones who pay while you TAKE TAKE TAKE!” I am black and approve this message.
Amen
The funniest thing is that only weeks ago, the DA condemned taser use on protesters saying “A taser is considered a deadly weapon under Georgia law”. Now he’s the prosecutor in this case arguing that this guy was killed without justification despite wielding what he himself referred to as a deadly weapon
