1 year here too. Everyone under 65 considered interchangeable proles. At partner level you’re considered a player. Higher up you’re a demigod and your position is so fixed no one refers to your job role, just your alias—as if it’s a sure thing you’re here for good. Yes on the slang. Lots of gossip and vassals vying for the affection and protection of the GMs. Ritual sacrifices in the form of RIFs keep the proles anxiously submissive. No knowledge of HR here...my feeling is if they’re involved, you’re halfway out the door. Also, for women...it’s really almost impossible to get leadership roles, unless you’re lucky enough to be fast tracked and properly groomed by mentors. Despite all this, I like my work and my colleagues are good peeps. I try to just do my job as well as I can, help others, and forget about the rest. Kind of like how I feel about national politics these days.

Not true. The partner, a good performance and with several awards, was let go. So: yes to politics, no to partners demigods

No I was referring to VPs as demigods. The partners are more like knights.
