145k at mid size start-up vs. 190k TC (+ higher layoff risk?) at Verizon Media. Which one?

I think the start-up is stable, and has good WLB.

Funny enough, the start-up is also a media company!

If it's a stable enough start up then no need to even think. Just choose that. It's very bad here.

Can you please elaborate on what all is bad? I think it's a stable start-up yeah

Leadership is directionless. Lots of reorgs. Many people leaving. Hike / bonus are bad. Verizon stocks aren't growth stocks so you basically get what's in your offer as cash (while start up stocks during ipo MIGHT be a lot). They canceled free food (whenever we get back to office) Only positive I can think of is great WLB.

There hasn’t been an engineering layoff at Verizon Media for a while. Maybe tiny layoff here and there, but that happens everywhere. I highly doubt wlb of that mid size start up can beat Verizon Media, I work 3 hours a day.
