Hello, I came across hypnosis therapy on the internet. I have worked with therapists before and am wondering how is hypnosis based therapy different from the traditional approach. I am looking for alleviating anxiety and pent up emotions. Please share your experience if you have done hypnosis based therapy and do you feel it remarkably good (or bad) than usual approach Tc 230k 6yr #mentalhealth #mindbody
I did it for anxiety and it helped a lot!
If you're talking about EMDR it's legit but hypnotherapy isn't commonly practice and definitely a YMMV situation
EMDR is helpful in processing emotions especially past or any trauma, and yes it is better than Hypnotherapy.
Traditional therapy is usually a talk therapy,in most cases it is CBT. Hypnosis is an induced state where it allows to change some unconscious thoughts. Hypnotherapy will not be covered by insurance most of the times. Private therapy usually costs 150-250$ . But therapist may record your therapy session and would ask you to practice at home for a week or two. It may work if it is not generalized anxiety disorder.
