Since there is nobody to share this with IRL and only you all would understand I am just going to share with you my personal achievement. I finally reached 1M NW last month due to crypto and stock gains. I know it isn't much on Blind but I feel it is a good start :) My single parent and I are immigrants and we used to live in someone's basement on less than 20K income a year as a child so we're very thankful that the tech industry helped elevate us to a more comfortable lifestyle. I remember eating instant noodles or toasted bread with an egg in it for breakfast to save money. 40% of my portfolio is in BTC, ETH, BNB, SOL and see myself going long on these platforms and chains just because I've dabbled with dApps and experienced how revolutionary they are (especially DeFi use cases). 30% is in random tech stocks and funds. 25% in real estate. Rest in cash. If you're curious, hitting this little goal (compared to Blinder net worths) actually wasn't that satisfying to me. It just made me want to focus on $2M in order to get closer to financial freedom. Nothing changes in the day to day.. Thanks for listening and have a nice day! TC: 250K Age: 28 #personalfinance #investments
For those interested here is my stagnant TC over time: Years between 2015 and now (might be off by a little bit since my memory is bad) 135K -> 160K -> 230K -> 270K -> 250K -> 250K I know my TC progression isn't as good but I like to just focus on investments to make up for it
Congrats. “I discovered ways to use my crypto to pay for daily necessities so that the government can't steal my earnings through taxes.” I never thought about it this way, basically you are not paying capital gains because you are not really converting back to cash. Interesting.
Yeah if we can already live off of crypto now without converting to fiat, maybe in the future it will be a ubiquitous way to pay for goods and services
You don't think the IRS has thought about this? Buying something with crypto is a taxable event. You must calculate your capital gains or loss when doing so and report it. Crypto is classified as a security and not a currency.
Congratulations man! Keep up the good work, and as you get wealthier, don't forget to slowly diversify portfolio into stable, boomer stocks so that you don't lose money to random crypto crashes
thanks! seems like we might have another crypto crash soon now that everyone is jumping back in 🙏 😮
Buying opportunities 😉
You went past all the TC chasers by making your money work for you. You are the chad.
high end TC earners my age will probably zoom past me if they haven't already, especially if they invest though but i don't like to feel pressure to work at a higher IC level so i put myself in a stagnant position im seeing it as a tc vs mental health tradeoff low pressure just relaxed way to live life ☺️
As you become more comfortable with your wealth, try to help those in need. Write about your journey, etc.
Congrats! What is it that you do full time?
just another coder :)
Congrats!!
CongratZ! when’s you hit 100k? 500k?
100K in the 2nd year i think and 500k beginning of last year (5th year) didn't invest much in first few years because i was scared of ATH 😵 it seems that money makes more money
Excellent post. Really great to read such content. Congrats!
