Finally hit the $1M net worth milestone! Celebrate with me! :D Age: 28 YOE: 5 TC: $300k EDIT: Copy pasting my approximate asset allocation and some of my financial strategies below. No Crypto. All my sign on RSUs are fully vested at this point, but with new stock awards, I am vesting $100k+/year. Base salary is $185k + $30k (+/- $10k) cash bonus based on performance. Microsoft matches 50% of 401k contributions, I max it out. I max out the company ESPP for the 10% discount and sell immediately and diversify. Maximize credit card rewards, refinanced house to 2.6% interest. Assets are approx: $400k home equity (I estimate conservatively, redfin and zillow estimate $100k more than I put in Mint, a home in my neighborhood with similar bed, bath, sqft, and finishes sold for $300k more than redfin/zillow estimate last week) $300k stock ETFs (mostly S&P 500) $150k MSFT stock $140k cash $20k savings bonds (series I) Mostly, it's just do a little bit of planning, put the money where it needs to be and sit and wait. Will look to get some new offers from other companies to try and increase my TC soon to keep the party going.
Congratulations! Interested to know your journey as well my friend.
Congrats only gets easier from hereon
Elaborate?
Harder to make the first million in my opinion. The next millions should be easier provided the first million is invested the right way.
Congrats 👏🏻 got lucky with crypto or did u hold MSFT RSUs?
MSFT RSUs for sure, it's been like a money printer. Since most of my RSUs are always held up and vest over time, I've been forced to HODL as MSFT went from $60 to $330. I do diversify now. I bought a house in 2019, had to sell some RSUs for the down payment. And all new vests I sell immediately and put into other stocks so I am not over leveraged on MSFT.
Good Job 👏 . Give me the 20,534 you don’t need it
So fast - How?
Negotiated $130k sign on RSUs back in 2017 when I joined Microsoft. Price was $60/share back then. Also I've received several Special Stock Awards that have also appreciated. Fast promos (one every year since I've joined). And finally I bought a house at the right time.
This is pretty close except that I had a full ride for college so parents didn't have to pay.
Stocks /Crypto? Please share your strategy thanks and congrats! 🥳

@jvRu30 congrats! Have you paid your house in full or are you on a mortgage? How much was the downpayment in case of the latter?
Upwards to 10 million
1m -> 1b -> 1t? Not too impressive if you're from Venezuela.
I found that my 1->2 was rather quicker/easier. Congrats btw!
How? Capital gains and compounding?
Well let’s see how the stock market does in the next few years.
Will they ask hard LC during the interview? If no , can you please refer me?
Interview difficulty is always all over the place, it's the industry standard. I've given probably 50+ interviews in my time here. I would say my questions are roughly LC medium equivalent.
