I'm not at meta anymore, but when I was, I pretty much always worked almost exactly 40 hours, minus my lunch breaks.
The worst thing that can happen to you at meta is that you can spend infinite amount of time on something and still get PIPed because you’re not good enough. It’s more of a function if you’re good at operating independently than just time. If you’re strong you can work short hours.

As long as the (perception of) impact is good, work whatever hours you're comfortable with. Anything else doesn't matter.

I'm starting soon and will work 40 hours and draw a line in the sand. I have good confidence I can meet expectations with this, but we'll see

What do people at meta do if they are under a time crunch to deliver something quickly and they get stuck on some weird bug thats difficult to fix?

Good ones well under 40. Bad ones, sky is the limit.
