In the kitchen I overheard people talking about how since Zillow wants to get really big, they are trying to hire people with big company experience and are going to get rid of people that don’t buy into the new big company culture. Apparently this was communicated at the exec offsite and that it was already happening at Trulia and starting at Zillow. Can anyone confirm?
What? No....that sounds like kitchen gossip. Zillow Group is not a start up anymore, just a fact, and the people who have a hard time adjusting to that might find it not in their interests anymore, and will leave..but getting rid of people who don’t want to drink the big company kool aid...that’s nonsense. As for big company’s on potential candidates backgrounds, that’s something all companies do.
I trust the two people that I heard talking and don’t think they’d be gossiping but who knows, I’ll guess we’ll see. The last thing I heard was that “big changes are coming.” I’ve only been here a couple of years and I’ve seen some change recently but nothing too drastic. Spencer has said that we need to act like a startup but the last time I heard that was awhile ago.
Zillow can’t even pull the MLS info correct. Had open house 12-4pm and Zillow has it listed 7-11pm. WTF! Need some better programmers.
UTC vs PDT?
No idea what that means. Hardware guy.
Zillow thinks it's a tech company up there with the big boys, which is pretty hilarious.
Yup. So true.
Zillow is going places, I have no doubt about that.
What is big company culture ?
Wrong place to post - but I need tips on What to expect in PM on-site rounds at Trulia/Zillow. GD is not very helpful. Thanks
That is true. Zillow Recuiter are always behind candidates from big company.
