Samsung offer rescinded
I got a verbal offer from SRI - bangalore, with a decent 30% hike on my current TC. Due to the bad economy, I didn’t negotiate and was satisfied with the increment. Then the HR asked to wait for a week or two for the offer letter, but in the end they started ignoring my calls and ultimately sent a mail stating the hiring process went on hold, so don’t expect an offer for now. I wanted to know what exactly happened out of the below possibilities: 1) They are lying and they already got someone with lower ctc for the position i was being considered. 2) They are telling the truth and there’s really a hiring freeze happened in last couple weeks. And once that freeze is lifted i can get the offer. (Samsung blinders please provide some insights on this) 3) They’re lying because now they could not offer the verbal ctc they communicated earlier. Most likely they got someone who accepted a low CTC. Also life at SRIB sucks. So you will be okay with any other offer
This gained to my friend a few months back, just be happy that you dodged a bullet. Most toxic workplace ever among all the MNCs
Your notice period?
It's true regarding hiring freeze , don't expect an offer.
I faced the same situation. Though I got the offer from Suse and just before 2 days of joining them I was informed that my offer was rescinded due to bad economic conditions. I had resigned from my last org with no alternate offer in hand. It's good that they rescinded even before you resigned. From credible sources I got to know another candidate with less ctc was hired for the same position and I was given the reason of bad economic conditions. You better stay away from such shitty companies and be happy you just doged a bullet.
Oh man, that's just evil. There should be a special place in hell for HR people. Companies don't face any consequences for such shitty behavior. And people get blacklisted when they renege on their acceptance.
