Why should Modiji not be next PM?
I’m in process of a lateral move within #jpmorganchase at the 603 level. What is a reasonable base I should push for at Plano local? TC 123,200 YOE 9
Get real. Lat moves rarely get a change in comp.
I recently moved to a new team—lateral move and I only got 5K bump.
I know others that have experienced both (no bump, minimal bump). From Dimon’s recent comments I better try for something before they lock it all down on comps and hiring.
What do you do, and what business it does make a difference?
Project management and CB for both roles
Yeah, I'm sorry it will be a tough ask. They're tightening even counter offers right now.
🥜 *0. That's the normal lateral move. You only get an adjustment if you're below the bottom part of the band but then that adjustment puts you in the bottom 10%. It's a bullshit practice.
Usually there is no comp adjustment in lateral moves. May be discuss early for year end comp adjustment?
Thanks, I’ll keep that in mind.
They will only adjust if you have an external offer.
I did a lateral move and there was no change in comp.
I moved from CIB to CB a few weeks back and was able to get 10k more out of comp so don’t let anyone on this thread convince you that it is impossible. I am located in Plano. TC - 160k YOE 13
How much push back did you get?
No one said impossible. It's definitely possible, but not likely if you already fall "within the band" of the role you move into. The bands aren't known well enough for you to know either way. It's a bullshit cop out that HR gives you. Everything is negotiable, just like everything has a price. How much are you willing to pay or how far are you willing to go?
I took mid year promotion and got $0 at time of move - I had to wait till Feb merit cycle. Get what you can, but don't hold any expectations.
Lateral moves depend on a lot of factors. Job role, location, and LOB. Are the biggest variables. Normally you can get 5% to 10% increase if you are really out of range, then get adjusted EOY. Now, if you are within range it becomes more a lump sum in base 5k-10k is an usual adjustment. Now if it is location based it can vary a lot. And if it is job role change, that is also a big volatility.
