Back in 2021 Palantir was an incredibly prestigious company to work for and had a lot of hype. What has happened to it? I don’t see anyone talking about it anymore and the subreddit has been completely dead for a year. What are your thoughts?
Palantir fascitis?
About as prestigious as plantains
Never was. Do you really want to help the government spy on Americans?
This comment is very funny to me as through almost all of Palantir's history we've come dramatically under our competitors in price for USG work. We sued the US Army and won so they would have to consider cheaper "off the shelf" products like our software rather than trying to build it themselves using system integrators like Raytheon etc for billions of dollars.
What is possibly prestigious about the product it’s like inventory software lol
Tell me you‘ve never used the product without telling me
Whats your tc in blloomberg
Palantir was never prestigious on blind. It only got its reputation because it appeared in CTCI book along with the other prestigious companies. Although blind never fell for it. Source: daily blind user since 2014
It had pretty strong talent in the early/late 2010s and had a similar (but slightly less good) reputation as Quora and Addepar as far as talent is concerned. Their interviews used to be on the more difficult end which is probably part of the reason why people hyped them up. However, they've slowly lowered their bar over the years, especially post IPO. When you try to scale an organization up you can't maintain the same bar that you did when the org was smaller.
Nah
