Have you ever given you Manager feedback?
Just wanted to get some feedback on IK - ML program ($8k). Have about three years experience in DS/ML and interested in getting deeper in ML. Prior experience in Mechanical Engg. and Finance for about 23 years. I'v come across very mixed to negative reviews here about IK, so not sure what to make out of all this. IK also pitches about getting interviews through the IK network - not sure if anyone has benefited. Any thoughts would be appreciated.
It’s terrible. Completely unorganized, large live classes where people interrupt with the silliest doubts and very poor quality instructors.
Agree!
I have opposite view. Instructors are veterans . Pretty organized . I took backend one. Don’t take these courses like once you finished them you get all offers. You need to further work on coding skills . Mock interviews are good. Doubt sessions are good if you them.
I really enjoyed the DSA lectures by Omkar. Highly recommend those. Best DSA content I've come across on the internet.
IK has only one thing that’s Omkar. Rest all is shit! People 1-2 Yoe will take mock interview and basically check if you can solve LC or not. You have to hound them to get good interviewers. Doubt sessions are useless when you can check neetcode and get your answer way quicker. Also hard agree with the guy who said these are huge classes with people asking absolutely dumb questions like “I’m a TPM do I need to learn bfs/dfs” in a technical class and teacher wasting 90-100 people 15 mins answering it. Only worth it thing was Omkar that dudes teaching style is out of world and it does provide some structure.
This is so true about mock interviewers. I had a pretty bad experience with a young chap yesterday. Or at least experience wise it felt like he was inexperienced
I had a positive experience with them in 2021. It enabled me to study only the essential material, and I was also able to learn about aspects I hadn't realized were necessary, not just for acing interviews but also for career advancement. It took me 45 days from the start to land an offer of $165k, which was significant, considering I was earning $75k at a Florida-based company. A year later, I utilized the same resources to prepare for an interview with Microsoft. Additionally, I secured about five other interviews before the one at Microsoft, which proved critical to my success, especially since the system design interview in one of those was identical to Microsoft's. They offer many other tips as well, but if you have more than five years of experience and are organized, you might save money and prepare on your own.
Some people here will tell you Omkar's videos are all the program's worth but honestly not at all! The whole program is not worth it. Omkar's videos are 100% not worth it. I have them and they're not worth it, because they are purposefully very very long(7+ hours) in order to make it difficult to pirate them. They dont have time stamps for which problems are being solved so going back is a challenge, and although he knows what he's talking about, you wont be able to learn because he's intentionally delaying explaining concepts to make the videos longer. I could say a lot of other things but this company doesnt deserve any money. I joined IK/ Interview Kickstart and I wish they could give me a refund. You'll get better results following Neetcode or Cracking FAANG and starting from easier problems moving up.
Don't waste your time and money on them.
