h1b and i140 with Broadcom acquisition

Hi, I am trying to figure out effect on visa/ perm application of people in companies previously acquired by Broadcom. I am looking for info on i140 process for people who weren’t laid off. If people who weren’t laid off had to restart i140, I will might as well leave early.
