Marketo v SF

Is Marketo experience interchangeable with SF Flows or Pardot Engagement Programs? I don't have Marketo experience, but I'm Pardot Certified and have 2-3 years of experience creating engagement programs. Should I still do some Marketo training? Are the basic principles the same?
