I’m assuming the complexity and tech debt + lack of moral would make this equation different
1. Not hoping for twitter to fail 2. It's not just how many employees but which employees- with mass exodus there will be less knowledge transfer
Sometimes there are more points of failures when systems grow...so what he said is definitely naive at best.
I don’t understand that how these people can be so dumb. How many users clicks twitter had in 2012 vs now? How data storage and processing changed from 2012 to now? How much legal requirement twitter had in 2012 vs now? How many advertisers twitter were having in 2012 vs now? With current scenario of photo and video sizes, can someone compare latency and performance requirement now? There are so many things which varies with time and tech changes. It’s saying like iPhone was having 1GB Ram in 2012 why can’t it work with same now.
The talent level of the first 1000 and the remaining current 1000 might not be the same. If the initial folks left I hardly doubt you can hold fort.
Let's all listen to an investor with no understanding of Twitters infra then or now. I'm sure he knows what operations are like there.
I don’t want Twitter to fail, I just want to watch Elon fail 😃
One of the dumbest things I’ve read, and I’m someone who uses blind so that’s like, whoa
yeah pretty dumb. 200 MAU is 6 users per day. they could just use email backend
I used to respect Bill Gurley but turns out that he’s also an Elon simp
Where’s the simping..? That was just facts?
It's not about the number but the quality. In 2012 Twitter was hot and had some of the best bay area talent. Most of those 1000 are gone now.
