Curious as to approximately how many years of experience at a no name, or lesser name, company translates to having 2 years of experience at a faang or big tech company
I see what you are trying to poll but this poll would make sense before start-up culture was a thing. Currently, what you learn at fast paced environments is way greater than being a small part of a big puzzle at a FAANG. You get to own more in small fast paced teams compared to any large scale ones. The poll would make more sense if it were comparing Fast paced:Slow paced:FAANG.
I’d say the real value of FAANG is when you start getting to the IC5/E6+ level and are leading/delivering projects that have more people working on them than an entire no name company’s staff. At that stage exact yoe isn’t really relevant, it’s impacc At 2 yoe, it’s just a cushy job to circle jerk about On blind.
Where is the option for 0.5x? Learning Google tech stack will get you zero benefit at a no-name using standard components.
Hahaha, do you think you gain better problem skills though and therefore have the ability to learn tech/frameworks quicker than others who have been exposed to only a single stack
