2 startups (moonlighting) vs one FAANG
Targeting TC ~ 600k preferably WFH LCOL. I am wondering between one big tech income and it's poor wlb vs having two jobs at some shitty startups. #tc #faang #swe

The startups that will pay you that much are gonna be way more work than FAANG lol
Having two lower tier job doesnt mean worse WLB. Im making more than any FAANG dickrider at my YoE. Work two lower tier big company instead or startups. Therell be more visibility on you in small orgs.
All startups are gonna be more work. What you are looking for are traditional companies where people naturally slack.
Take two L4 roles at faang or tier 2 companies and you will be close to $600k a year
Probably closer to high 400k maybe 500k Haven’t seen too many places offering >$250k for sde2. Most of them are around that or lower
Amazon offers like $300k+ for sde2.. unless comps have dropped a lot due to recession..
How do you know if a startup is s low time commitment? I keep hearing this and it doesnt make sense. Theres a chance you could just have 2 40 hr week jobs and get fired. Theres no way to determine during an interview.
Just because you believe the startups are shitty doesn't mean there's less work. If you can truly handle moonlighting more power to you.
