Looking to decide between these (or stay at Snap for chance of L6 promo) Grinded super hard for a couple of months and managed to get these aligned. Some numbers fudged for anonymity. Not all have been negotiated, so there’s some wiggle room. Leaning towards Notion or Snowflake for the growth potential, not down for Meta after dealing with Snap’s wannabe PSC. Not super bullish on Notion or Plaid, but still thinking about it. Almost all except Pinterest is in office. Notion and Snowflake are 2. Meta and Google are 3. TikTok and Snap are 4, Citadel 5. Generalist engineer, lots of LC experience due to being from a T4 university and CodeForces Red. Some of these are more front end leaning (Snowflake, Notion, Pinterest) so not too sure on those. Avoiding Citadel but sharing data for others. YOE: 10ish
Google offer seems low
Haven’t really pushed them yet, I’m not sure on Google’s future and not super down to coast
Had heard google wasnt hiring senior engineers in US, outsourcing to India and Mexico
Wow this is like 2021 flashbacks ! I thought I time-traveled
2021 was a lot easier! I only failed a couple back then, now I failed almost half.
Where else did you interview?
YOE?

Also - if anyone has details about Plaid, Notion, Snowflake culture, please share! The rest are all super searchable
You have better options than snowflake seems like
Is Snowflake bad? I really enjoyed my interviews there I found in terms of people (during the process): Notion = Snowflake = Plaid > Pinterest = Google >>>>> Citadel = Meta = TikTok
Wow congrats! I don’t know how you have the time to do all this, but congrats!!!
If you’ve been somewhere for a while, turning off a bit and sneaking out is easy. But I did have days with two onsites back to back.
Impressive, how many total companies did you interview vs get offers for? I'd probably take Pinterest just because I value remote personally.
A lot of places were willing to interview - I tested the market in 2023 and now most of big tech seems to be willing. I turned down a few interviews, and also got rejected at places like Jane Street, Netflix, Airbnb, Amazon (lol).
How come Amazon failed? Weird question or anything?
Congratulations!! In this kind of market if you can score so many offers, you are an exceptional interviewee 🙇 Please share interview preparation details. Especially system design.
Are these equity numbers per year, one time pay out now, or vested between some years?
Mix of even vesting, front loaded, back loaded, and with and without refreshers. But the amount is for the first year, and each year should be similar.
Are you L4 or L5 at snap? 400k is L4
My grants weren’t $10, and outperforming only goes so far
Got it

Great job getting a lot of good offers!
I’ll always miss Snap before 2022, I’m still considering staying for the people but a lot of old timers have left
It's a sinking ship. I'm just coasting for a few more months and then will take a break. But it was good back in the day. Probably the smartest engineers I've worked with. Evan is just not very intelligent and has zero self awareness.
