Recently read an article how one guy was sentenced 39 years in prison by mistake. So once 39 years have passed, he was offered a $21 million USD as compensation I got one question would you go to prison for a year and in exchange you get $1 million tax free money?
There's a good chance that individual will be broke within 5 years :(. Just like powerball winners
Did you hear this story from Chicago? A guy got locked up, few years down the road they realized that some procedural things weren’t correct, so they released him. Then he sues the city for money and gets $25M in damages. He uses this money for signup bonuses for some muscle and puts together a crew. I kid you not :)

Definitely not in US prison.
I was in the military for 5 years and for a lot less money, basically prison. I could do one more for a mil.
Were you enlisted? I hope it isn’t prison at least for officers?
Yes, I was enlisted.
Min security or federal PMITA?
1 mil tax free?
I would work from prison for a year.
Is there a wfh option?
Daily conjugal visits are allowed?
No way, much easier to make money without any downside.
Imagine, you could make a million leetcoding in preparation for FAANG
Do I get to chose the length of my stay? Are work visas allowed?
