You need over 2x the income than in NYC? #wtf http://www.mercurynews.com/2017/11/20/216181-thats-the-household-income-needed-to-buy-a-house-in-san-jose-metro-area-report-says/?utm_campaign=Echobox&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Facebook#link_time=151121821
As per chart SF is cheaper than San Jose?
“SF” included Contra Costa County and east bay, which probably brought the average down
I see..makes sense..thanks
Looking for wife material. Must make 100K. Thanks.
I make more
@noriAnge you must be taken like a bacon!
Thanks FB, Apple, Netflix, Google, Nvidia!!
Arguably, it’s more of a supply problem than a high income problem.
Just imagine how the market would be once Uber/Airbnb/Stripe IPO! I would not be surprised if the minimum needed would be 300k at that point of time.
Liars, we make more than this and still cannot afford a house in San Jose or Sunnyvale or Santa Clara or Mountain View. Fuck you property Gods.
Seriously?
I am looking for a 3Bed 2 Bath house in an area with good schools, by good I mean at least 8 on greatschools.org. what do I get? 1 Bed 1 Bath with creaking roofs. How is this fucking fair to consumers? I am just gonna invest somewhere else and move to a place with better infrastructure. Hopefully Amazon's new hub can be a good choice. No one knows but I am just tired.
Not buying might be a blessing in disguise with the new tax law..so be happy 😀
blame over regulation and lack of construction, too many nimbys voting down new projects
Wow I thought it's more expensive. 216k means that even a Blind new grad can afford it
You need way more to buy in any decent neighborhood in SF.
How many leetcode problems does that translate into.
