Need some help here. I got a 221g after a drop box appointment for my visa. 10 days later I am asked to appear in person at the consulate and also had to send some documents via email. 15 days pass after this point and the status keeps showing as "refused". Now today, the status changed to "administrative processing". Does that mean administrative processing itself was started only today? verbatim reads like this "Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days" Any 221 G people out here? did your status show something along similar lines? what happened after? TC: 330 K
Administrative processing on the portal isn’t 221g, it means they’re processing your application. I was in the same situation last month. The processing time for 221g was 2weeks
how long did it take after this particular status showed up?
This one showed up after 3-4 days once we submitted the documents.
which consulate?
Hi Op did you get an update?
OP any update? It’s unfair to request help and not post closure.
Its in administrative processing. Lot of people have faced refused > administrative processing but ultimately had an approval
what does refused> admin processing even mean?
The status usually goes to refused first
