Recently got an offer for 230k in India. My wife is a citizen and I'm on H1B transitioning to GC. Assuming her comp will be 100k max(underpaid healthcare gig), any framework for helping me choose where we should go? I've been in the US for the last 7 years. Her family is here while mine is in India. #tech #remote
You’ll be makin 330k in India and you’re sitting on your ass here thinking?!
I think what OP meant is his wife will be making 100k if she were to work in the US.
Correct. Wife's license to practice wouldn't transfer over so her arduous schooling would go to waste. I want her to have a fulfilling career.
What tech do you work on? That is ridiculous amount for India.
Company didn't care about my location when it came to the offer. GenAI
What the hell ? Which company is that
230k in india holy shit. You’ll live like a king! May I ask what company is this offer from?
Cannot name as it's small
If you get laid off , do you think it will be easy to find another job that pays the same in India ? That’s what I would worry about
Of course India 🇮🇳
Will your wife move to India, considering she is a citizen here?
Since its a remote offer, why not go to a developed country where the standard of living is good and taxes are lower.
Which company is paying 230k dollars in India? Which level or is it US company allowing you to work remotely from India? I don't think Indian companies pays in dollars.
If you leave US now, you will abandon GC after a year of leaving US. You will loose opportunity to come back to US In the future for any great opportunity that may come along. Get your US citizenship and then go to India if you want.

Is that 230k dollars or rupees? Coz both of those would be crazy, either crazy low or crazy high.
Dollars for both
India seems to be a no brainer if all you care is money. You will save a ton more over there. But, for me, no amount of money would get me to move to India. The quality of life is just so shit. Every time I go to India, I get frustrated in like 2 weeks and get home sick
