Geico’s position is Technology development Program - Software engineer. Heard a lot of bad reviews about Geico(layoffs, pip), but the pay is pretty good for new grad and it’s fully remote. DoD’s position has good job security and good benefits but need to relocate there, the work will be hybrid and I think the pace will be slow. I prefer the Geico position since it’s remote and more software development projects, Which one is better in your opinion? #geico #swe
Coming from the perspective of another vet that DoD job is literally a joke especially in dc which is pretty expensive, I’m not sure you’d even be able to qualify for apartments by yourself. You might as well go be a cashier at Whole Foods which would pay more at that point

Insurance is a big scam and working for DoD is akin to murdering people. So you can either be a fraud who scams people off their hard-earned income or be a murderer.
How can one survive on median salary in the DC area?
Dod because security clearance will bring you lots of jobs in the future
Do you get security clearance?
Yes, they will sponsor a secret clearance
If you want govt work with better pay you should look at intelligence careers
Hey can I dm you?
DoD offer is low even for the government. Should be starting at 80k at least.

15 years age difference, need advice! 🙏
The DoD pay is insultingly low, as a new grad job security isn't top priority anyway as it's very beneficial to be hopping ship for greener pastures after 2-4 years anyway
