This post makes me thankful for my $875/mon mortgage
Dang
So jealous.
Which place? We got 9% rent increase in Cupertino
Oh man!! 😫 how big is the house you’re in?
2B 2B apartment 😿😿
Rents are up 6-10% across South Bay as RTO kicks in at many companies
Rent from a home/condo owner. If you’re a good renter that pays on time and doesn’t cause any headaches, they’ll rarely raise the rent. I’ve rented privately owned units 3 times and have never had rent raised on me.
My offer is 7 percent, but can probably haggle down to 5 percent. Last year was the brutal one because I lost my Covid deal.
Not in CA. But about 2.5%
My rent went up 10% in SoCal.
8% is certainly not fun but it isn’t crazy… I’m in NYC and I’ve had people at work tell me their rents went up 20% or more YoY due to incentives expiring, crazy demand, and just general inflation. Like we’re talking someone going from paying 4K/mo to almost 5k/mo.
Get bunk beds and room separators
Sounds about right, actually kind of merciful. 5%+inflation (up to another 5%) is possible, so this year, 10% is permissible. Rents on houses look up 10-20% for new tenants.
