Damning quotes from early Zionist leaders
I began working at IBM in August 2023 as a band 6, following graduation from graduate school. My sign in bonus was $10,000 and my salary was $93,000. I began my first project in October and have stayed on it until today. I worked as a Project Manager Assistant for the first half then a PBI Developer. WLB for both were very generous, aside from the crunch weeks nearing the holidays. I was remote for both positions and had a lot of autonomy. I would meet with my coworkers/bosses and we would delegate the work on the reports. I then would work on the report until our next meeting and showed what I have finished, what remains, and further split/rearrange work - rinse and repeat for a long time. I would realistically work 15 hours a week and utilize the free learning resources we have access too. After working for a year I received my raise of $10,000, my prior sign on bonus became my raise. I believe we receive another raise at the 1yr and 11mth mark. After this I have heard that raises and promotions go slow. Additionally, I heard that it is difficult to get onto a new project once you finish your former role - I applied to ~9 projects and got denied from 3. I heard that you can stay on the bench for up to 2 months before you get pip’d. Another downside is that we don’t really do Data Science, we are more like Analysts and PBI Developers - I only used Python to automate some data transformation which was being done on Excel. If you want to take a mental breather for a potentially easier job and are accepting that you won’t do much real DS, then I recommend it.
Thank you so much for these insight! I will dm you for sure
