TC > 600k (Not at Bloomberg) NW 400k Rent 3k/month Monthly expenses ~9k/month (helping family, etc) I think it would nice to own a house - both for diversification of my investments and as a more permanent abode. Houses in my area are going at 1.2M+ #mortgage #housing #google #amazon #meta #apple #uber #jpmorgan #goldman #citi #netflix #salesforce
$9k a month is a lot. How are you spending that much? Even worse if uts after rent?
3k rent 3k monthly personal expenses 1k car 2k family
3k monthly personal expense seems a lot for a single guy
Yes
Leave the houses for folks with kids.
Even at those expenses you should be saving $200+k / year. Spend a few years putting yourself in a good position
Instead of Not at Bloomberg, it helps to mention where you work now
Buy condo
Why?
Only if you enjoy high monthly HOA.
1k car is a lot, but personal choice I guess. Maybe you were thrifty about the car before and now you felt like you deserved it or many other reasons to justify that. But I'm a 31 single female and my total expenses are ~5k with 3k rent. It does go up to 8k if a big expense comes up like dentist or parent's travels, etc.
Live your life how you want, responsibility free
Buy a house while you can. Renting is just flushing money down the toilet
Buying a house at today's prices and rates is flushing money down the toilet imo.
Disagree. Itβs an investment that you can refinance. At least put your $ into something you can keep as yours
