Dillema. Got 2 offers. Need help to choose
I was laid off 3 months ago from a preseed startup in NY. DA position with 55k salary. I have 1.5 YE in research and analytics Now i have 2 offers in hand but timing is the problem. 1. Crowe (top 10 consulting) - data analyst 6 contract position after that full time. 40 an hour, FT: 80k + 10% bonus, 5% 401k match. deadline to accept - Friday 2. fintech startup, need to relocate to dallas. full time, risk/fraud position. finished 6 interviews, was invited to final interview on tuesday (after first offer’s deadline) i told to HR that i was making 68k they said no problem. i think it could be 70-75k plus benefits. didnt do the negotiations yet, thays the problem. I kinda doubt my skills in DA but willing to learn and improve. Afraid that I’m gonna suck if I join Crowe since it’s a big firm? i dont mind any because it sucks to be unepmloyed. just risk position involves calling clients and more operational. I want to persue career in data science but afraid that I’m not gonna be converted to FT after contract period#data #dataanalytics #datascience
Did you ask for a few days extension yet?
Yes I told the recruiter and he said it’s not possible. Actually I told them that i’m on final stages so they crunched 2 interviews into 1. They look to hire asap
Is the fintech like a very known startup ? If not then Crowe But I guess negotiate first with the fintech and see if you can get more
They did Series C few months ago and raised 400M so far. Just the position is not much data related, rather operational
Do you want to do analytics or operational ?
You made a mistake telling then u are making 68k. You should have said 69k
I was making 55k but said 68. Should’ve asked for 69,420

I’ll advise you to join a company with a nicer manager who can give you growth.
